RAPALLO’S SHADOW

By William Fernie

As 1920s Europe is shrouded in the murky aftermath of war, Captain Tom Munro, pilot and erstwhile spy, grapples with his future in a faltering airline industry. His life takes an unexpected turn when he is recruited by the British Secret Intelligence Services, plunging him into a world of espionage and intrigue.

Driven by a sense of duty, Tom is thrust into a critical mission and re-united with Alice Ferguson, an enigmatic and fiercely independent SIS Agent. Their objective is to secure irrefutable proof of an unlikely military alliance between two nations that history would never suspect of collusion. The stakes are perilously high; not only are their own lives hanging in the balance, but the lives of their fellow agents and collaborators are also entangled in the web of risk. When government officials ignore their discoveries, Tom and Alice decide to take matters into their own hands.

Rapallo’s Shadow is the third William Fernie novel in the Captain Tom Munro series of historical thrillers. The series is based on actual events as 1920s Europe emerges from the horrors of the Great War.

Discover what secrets Tom and Alice reveal and the desperate actions they take in their brave but reckless attempts to disrupt the preparations for yet another war in Europe.

Reviews

William Fernie has produced another cracking read in this latest in his Tom Munro series of novels.

Rupert Weiss, UK

Another exciting and well-researched story from William Fernie. Rapallo’s Shadow follows seamlessly from his earlier novels, taking Tom and Alice on their next adventure. The flying in early aeroplanes is convincingly depicted, and the drama of espionage in Russia and Germany between the wars is gripping stuff. Highly recommended.
